Following on my previous post about the number 36 and deciding to follow the NASCAR driver who had that number – Mike Bliss – I have now decided to pin my baseball hopes on the Washington Nationals player who has that number also.
Now, while the part of me that writes in cliches wants to bemoan the fact that Mr. Clippard was born (Feb 14, 1985) during the time I was junior in high school, there is the other part of me that revels in the fact that I am aging and gaining maturity…but that’s a post for another day.
Yesterday, April 7, saw Clippard’s 2010 debut as he pitched in relief in the Nationals’ loss against the Philadelphia Phillies. Clippard threw for 1 and 2/3 innings, giving up 1 hit, 2 walks, but no runs.
Way to go, Tyler. Keep up the good work.
