Haven’t done an update on the number 36, the athletic version, in quite a while so let me make up for lost time.
Washington Nationals relief pitcher, Tyler Clippard, who wore 36 on his uniform finished up the 2010 baseball season with a respectable 11-8 record, 1 save, and an ERA of 3.07. He struck out 112 and only walked 41.
Over in the racing world, Mike Bliss started the year driving the number 36 car in the Sprint Cup series. For that premier racing league, Bliss finished in 42nd place. While that may be a great number for fans of Douglas Adams, I’m sure it’s not where Bliss, his crew, or his sponsors wanted him to end up.
However, over in the Nationwide Series, Bliss finished the 2010 season in 12th place. Not too bad.
In the National Football League, I decided to follow the gentleman who was selected in the 36th spot of this year’s draft and that person turned out to be Dexter McCluster, a wide receiver who was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s been an up and down year for McCluster as he played in his team’s first six games and garnered 147 yards and 1 touchdown. He then was out the next five games and played again last week against the Denver Broncos and had two catches for 25 yards.
Well, now I’m caught up.
