As the last month of 2010 nears its end, it turns out that Democrats in Congress won’t be the only ones leaving the Old Free Colony (my nickname for the Washington, D.C. area). It appears that three sports figures will also be packing their bags soon.
Now even though The Washington Post was a year early with the story, the head coach of the University of Maryland football team, Ralph Friedgen will be gone after his team’s appearance in the Military Bowl.
We finish off with the Washington NFL team and their treatment of quarterback Donovan McNabb, who was benched by coach Mike Shanahan for the final three games of the season. While not yet techincally gone from the D.C. area, one as wise as Post columnist Thomas Boswell has chimed in with:
Barring divine intervention, the McNabb-Redskins marriage will be annulled after this season.
Well, January is the time to look ahead to the future.
