Once again and again…continuing on my exercise to track things surrounding the number 36, here is the “end-of-season” update on Dexter McCluster of the Kansas City Chiefs, who was the 36th person drafted in the NFL draft in April of 2010.
McCluster, a wide receiver who wore number 22 for Kansas City, finished the 2010 campaign with 21 catches for 209 yards and. He also rushed 18 times for 71 yards. In their one playoff game (a loss to the Baltimore Ravens), McCluster caught 4 passes for 17 yards and rushed twice for 5 yards.
Not too shabby for a rookie.
In the other “football”, by which I mean soccer, Major League Soccer recently held its supplemental draft. With the 36th pick overall, the Colorado Rapids selected Philip Bannister, a forward from Loyola University (Maryland).
Yeah! A local lad!
