Because countless others will be more profound than I could ever be about the emotions of this day, I will go another route.
While unpacking my creativity notebooks, I came across haiku that I had written more than a decade ago.
Haiku is a form of short poetry that originated in Japan. It consists of three lines where the first line contains five syllables, the second has seven, and the last has five also.
This is different from Marilyn Monroe Haiku where the first line has 35 letters, the second line has 23 letters, and the last line has 35 letters.
Moving on to the haiku portion of the post.
Nine by thirteen cube
Walls of tacked-up comic strips
Can’t hold back my dreams
Dimpled ball on grass
Tin cup feet away beckons
The jacket of green
APRIL 14, 19xx
The ice that sunk Her
Was put in Her path by Him
To prove them all wrong
