Today, I introduce you to my middle child (and youngest son) as Roger Kint, Kevin Spacey’s character in The Usual Suspects.
At the dinner table last night, Jared began to tell us a story about Italian breadmakers who create paintings using chili peppers and also engage in time travel to journey to a world ruled by horses.
It was an entertaining little tale and I asked him where he came up with such an eclectic (okay, so I didn’t use the word eclectic to a fifth-grader) story.
He said he looks around.
As my eyes wandered around our kitchen dining area, I noticed the following items:
…a bottle of Italian dressing;
…a basket of bread;
…a painting by Wassily Kadinsky;
…a magnet on our refridgerator in the shape of a chili pepper;
…a digital watch on Jared’s wrist;
…a calendar on our fridge with pictures of horses.
All Jared needed was a limp to complete the picture.
